Art In Nature Photo Festival Education Conference

August 11th - August 13th, 2017

In conjunction with the 7th annual Art in Nature Photo Festival, the Ward Museum Education Department will offer a wide variety of workshops, field sessions, and seminars lead by expert photographers.

Registration is required for field sessions. Seminar entry is included with event wristband. Event wristband is available online soon. Separate purchase of a wristband is not necessary if you are a competitor, as an event wristband is included with competition entry fee. Space is limited, seminar capacity is 35 persons, first come, first serve. Online registration is encouraged for field sessions.

Workshops and Field Sessions

Friday, August 11

6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, 909 S. Schumaker Dr. Salisbury, MD
Cost: Free for Museum Members and SU faculty, staff, and students; $5 for all others

Keynote Speaker: Jay Fleming

Saturday, August 12

12:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
FIELD SESSION: Smith Island Photography Excursion
Jay Fleming

Join Jay Fleming for an interactive photography workshop on Smith Island. Students should expect to arrive back in Crisfield 45 minutes after wrapping up the sunset shoot. Dinner will be provided, please bring a brown bag lunch to eat on the ferry and snacks.

FIELD SESSION: Photo Tour of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge
Cam Miller

Join Cam Miller, 2016 Keynote Speaker and multiple-time winner of the Art In Nature Photography Festival, at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge for an amazing sunrise photo shoot.  This beginner-suitable tour will focus on birds in flight, landscapes at sunrise, and discovering gems near the refuge like abandoned farmhouses and lone trees.
