Education Calendar

The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art's education calendar is updated regularly. Some events may require pre-registration and may not take place at the Museum so you will want to view the program details. The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury MD (map)

Interpretive Assistance Workshops are available to Ward Museum volunteers on a first to come, first to be served basis at Historic London Town and Gardens. The session on June 12th - Becoming US in 1812: From British Colonial to American Citizen features a full day of workshops beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. They cover everything from using the Bicentennial to promote our own programs to facts on and music associated with the War of 1812. $35. per person would cover transportation to and from London Town/Gardens, the workshops and lunch. The cost is reasonable because this event is sponsored by the National Park Service, Maryland's Office of Tourism, the Maryland Historical Trust and the Maryland Assoc. of History Museums.

Itinerary -

7:30 a.m. - Board Van in Ward Museum Parking Lot

9:30 a.m. Workshop Welcome at London Town and Gardens in Edgewater, MD

- Using the Trail and Bicentennial to develop and promote your programs

10:00 a.m. Ten things you should know about the War of 1812

11:15 a.m. The music if 1812

12:30 p.m. Lunch

12:45 p.m. The War of 1812 pivot: economic revolution?

1:45 p.m. Attend two of three most popular workshops offered

- Working with student groups

- Using interpretive tips and touchstones

- Enlivening War of 1812 guided tours

- Leveraging the Trail and the 1812 Bicentennial to bring visitors to your community

4:00 p.m. Board the Van for a return trip to Salisbury 6:30 p.m. Arrive at Ward Museum Parking Lot with fresh new ideas!
