Family Holiday Crafts
December 5, 2009 (Noon - 3pm)
The Ward Museum Family Holiday Crafts event is going GREEN! Families and children create and make personalized gifts such as jewelry, ornaments, wreaths, birdfeeders and other crafts from recycled and sustainable materials. Refreshments, snacks and other items will be sold. All participants enjoy FREE admission to the museum. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Fun for the whole family!
Paint a Shorebird Carving for Youth
December 5, 2009 (12:30-1:30 p.m. AND 2:00-3:00 p.m.)
In addition to Family Holiday Crafts, enroll in this special youth opportunity. Paint a shorebird to keep as your own or to give as a special gift. Two sessions available. Space limited. Pre-registration recommended.
Student Art Show
February 12 - March 14, 2010
Next year's topic is "Art & the Animal." All artwork and interpretations should fit within the addressed topic. The show opens with a reception. Start working on submissions today. The exhibit and participation is free and features art from area public, private, and home-school children. This is a non-competitive art show. Deadline for submission is January 29, 2010. Space is limited.
World Championship Competition
April 23-25, 2010
Over 150 varieties of bird carvings by 800 of the world's best carvers can be viewed at the most prestigious carving competition in the world. The event features educational conference seminars and workshops FREE to youth. The Kids' Corner offers children many projects, including soap carving, painting a decoy, and other activities. Mayday: For the Environment

Enjoy a fun-filled half-day of environmental activities to end the school year. Choose learning stations from a variety of offerings. Stations include environmental topics such as water quality, wetlands, native species and recycling. Through programs like these, students learn to become stewards of our cultural and natural heritage and carry on the traditions of the eastern shore. Pre-registration is required.
