Environmental Education Training

 

Professional Development Training for Educators

Training in an assortment of curriculums can be scheduled upon special request for groups of 10 or more. Great for professional development days! Curricula that are available here at the Ward Museum include: Growing Up WILD, Project WILD, Project WILD Aquatic, Flying WILD, Project Learning Tree, and Project WET 2.0.
 

Project WILD: K - 12 Curriculum and Activity Guide
(6 of 15 hrs for 1 CPD credit)
Fee per program: $25


Project WILD was designed to be an instructional resource for educators who want to introduce students to hands-on activities that encourage problem-solving and decision-making skills about the environment they share with wildlife. Project WILD is concerned with providing information, as well as helping students to evaluate choices and make responsible decisions about the environment and wildlife. Bring a bag lunch. This class may contribute towards a CPD credit (15 hours total required, hours are cumulative), be sure to select the check-box for CPD credit when registering.
 

Flying WILD: K - 12 Educator's Guide to Celebrating Birds
Fee per program: $25


This curriculum introduces students to bird conservation through standards-based, interdisciplinary classroom activities and environmental stewardship projects. Flying WILD encourages schools to work with conservation organizations, community groups, and businesses to implement a school bird festival and bird conservation projects. This class is NOT eligible for CPD credit.
 

Growing Up WILD: Ages 3 - 7 Exploring Nature with Young Children
Fee per program: $25


Growing Up WILD helps connect children to the outdoors through 27 activities. Each activity presents a wide range of options so that children can work and learn at developmental levels that are individually appropriate. All the activities interweave multiple content areas helping to foster development and learning. This class is NOT eligible for CPD credit
 

Project Learning Tree: Pre K - 8 Environmental Ed. Activity Guide
(4 of 15 hrs for 1 CPD credit)
Fee per program: $25


Through hands-on, interdisciplinary activities, Project Learning Tree (PLT) helps young people learn how to think, not what to think, about complex environmental issues. Developed to meet state and national standards, PLT provides the tools educators need to bring the environment into their classrooms and their students into the environment. Bring a bag lunch. This class may contribute towards a CPD credit (15 hours total required, hours are cumulative), be sure to select the check-box for CPD credit when registering.
 

Project WET: K - 12 Curriculum and Activity Guide
Fee per program: $25


The goal of Project WET is to facilitate and promote awareness, appreciation, knowledge and stewardship of water resources through the development and dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aides and through the establishment of state and internationally sponsored Project WET programs. Bring a bag lunch. This class may contribute towards a CPD credit (15 hours total required, hours are cumulative), be sure to select the check-box for CPD credit when registering.

(4 of 15 hrs for 1 CPD credit)
Fee per program: $25
