Outdoor Adventure #2: Birding

Meet at the Ward Museum parking lot at 9 a.m. to carpool to Assateague Island National Seashore

Meet at Barrier Island Visitor Center parking lot at 9:45 a.m. (Assateague's north entrance is at the end of Route 611, eight miles south of Ocean City, MD. The visitor center is located on the right side of the road before the bridge.) www.nps.gov/asis/index.htm
Program Description:
The second Family Nature Club outing features birding at Assateague Island National Seashore. Join us as we look for birds in the various ecosystems found on the barrier island of Assateague. We will provide binoculars, field guides and expertise. After looking for birds, warm your hands at a beach fire and enjoy a cup of hot coca. The program concludes with participants constructing bird feeders to take home and enjoy.
Each participating family will receive a Family Nature Club Journal, a Leave No Trace ethics reference card and a Parent’s Guide to Nature Play booklet.

Cost is $20 members, $25 non-members per family for each outing. Club scholarships are available for qualifying families. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
