Amiel Garibaldi

( - ) Sacramento, CA

Amiel Garbaldi started carving decoys at the age of eleven and eventually amassed a rig of almost three hundred decoys representing Canada geese, canvasbacks, mallards, redheads, sprig and green-winged and cinnamon teal (Engers 270). Garibaldi’s sprig with long curved necks designed for hunting in grass or pickleweed have an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The teal also qualify as something more than utilitarian hunting equipment. Amiel Garibaldi retired from his job as pharmacist, but continues to hunt and carve decoys now and then with his grandsons.
