Jack Cox is a well- known award winning decoy carver who currently resides in Elizabeth City. North Carolina. Cox began carving in the 1970’s as a side hobby while working at his electric motor business. Now 30 years later Cox has been recognized as a master carver and has been displayed at galleries such as the Academy Art Museum. He has won 1st place several times in both the Core Sound Decoy Festival and the Ward World Carving Championship. He also has displayed his skill in decoy carving through public demonstrations at places such as the Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC.
