Online Festival & In Person Carving Competition
|Our one-of-a-kind, one-day folklife festival is back by popular demand, this year as a hybrid in-person/online event.|
Join us online all day Saturday, August 8, to learn about some of the cultural traditions and art forms important to the communities of Delmarva – through instructional videos, conversational interviews, and more. Check back soon for a full schedule of offerings.
Calling all decoy carvers!
Get out your carving knives and paintbrushes. In addition to the online offerings above, we’re excited to hold the time-honored Chesapeake Challenge (formerly of the Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo) this year as part of the Delmarvalous Festival. This annual decoy competition celebrates the history and living heritage of wildfowl carving—showcasing the talent of decoy makers whose work is rooted in wildfowl hunting traditions.
Entries will be accepted the following ways:
- Mail-in entries will be accepted through August 5.
- Advanced registration will take place in person at the Ward Museum July 27 – August 7 (hours forthcoming).
