(FREE) The Ward Museum has discovery backpacks fully outfitted with everything you would need for a scientific investigation of the natural world. Free for use around the museum grounds during normal business hours. The backpacks, funded by the Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network, are filled with tools to assist students’ nature study on the trail.
(FREE) Every Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Share a story followed by a thematic craft with the little ones in your life. Program supported by the Susan K. Black Foundation.
(FREE) Drop in with the whole family for an artist-led activity every third Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Local guest artists and cultural art projects each month. Program supported by the Susan K. Black Foundation.
Boy & Girl Scouts
The Ward Museum provides a range of programs to help scouts build up their badges. The Girl Scout badges that the Ward Museum currently offers are Outdoor Art, Gardening, Butterflies, Woodworker, Drawing, Insect ABCs, Photography, Oceans, Wetlands, River, and Bay. The Boy Scout badges the Ward Museum currently offers are Basketry, Bird Study, Fishing, Insect Study, Photography, Sculpture, and Woodcarving.
