50 Finest Decoy Makers before 1950

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Ward Foundation, the Ward Museum is holding an exhibit of fifty great decoy carvers and their works prior to 1950.  The content of the exhibit is drawn from community nominations for both makers and their birds.  It will be the premier exhibit during the Ward Foundation 50th Anniversary event  held during the Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo.

Native American Heritage Day

Join the Ward Museum for a pop-up art exhibit, hands-on craft activity, and a heritage panel discussion with local tribal leaders to celebrate Native American History Month.  This event is free and open to the public.

Losing Land, Losing Birds: Climate Change and Our Wildlife

November 30 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join Tom Horton and Dr. Sonja Kolstoe of the Environmental Studies department for a film screening and discussion about climate change and its effects on our area and our wildlife.  Beginning with a screening of the documentary High Tide in Dorchester County, the evening will also feature Dr. Kolstoe's latest research on the consequences of forecasted changes in land cover and climate to the birds and the people who love to watch them.

Silver Bells Holiday Quarter & Benefit Auction

December 8 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Auction preview begins at 5 p.m. with the auction starting at 6 p.m.  Bring your quarters or get them from us to  bid on great items from local and regional businesses and attractions!  General Admission gets you into the auction to bid and one paddle, $10 in advance; $15 at the door.  VIP tickets include admission to the auction, on paddle, and access to the VIP room for refreshments from local businesses, VIP ticket $35.

9th Annual Art in Nature Photo Festival

Throughout the weekend, photographers of all skill levels are invited to participate in seminars and workshops offered by a selection of the region's top nature photographers. Additionally, photographers are encouraged to enter their photos in one of the competition in three levels: professional, amateur, or youth.
