Viewing the Competition
This year, we invite guests to watch the competition both in-person and online. The ‘floating’ portion will be held outside on the Museum’s lawn with designated spectating areas for people to watch both the judges and birds in action.
Additionally, you can follow along from home as portions of the judging and competition will be streamed live on our Facebook page.
Not every category will be shown on the livestream. A schedule of judging, and which categories you can watch will be made available at a later time.
Classes of all types will be held in-person and virtually (over Zoom) all week long. Designed for all skill levels, classes run from Tuesday, April 19 through Sunday, April 24.
Pre-registration is required for all classes on a first-come, first-served basis. Payments can be paid online, through the mail, over the phone, or in person at the Ward Museum.
Those who rolled over their class payments from 2020 are still enrolled in their class. Those who were refunded payments are not enrolled in any class.
Decoy & Wildfowl Art Auctions
The Ward World Championship has long hosted the Benefit Art Auction, an auction of wildfowl art for amateur and veteran collectors alike. This auction, which supports the Ward Foundation—including efforts toward an in-person show in 2023—is being held in two unique formats this year.
An in-person silent auction will take place at the Ward Museum from April 21 – April 23 and will include some highly collectible decoys and other forms of wildfowl art.
An online auction will also be held to auction off the winning carvings from this year’s champagne division – a rare opportunity to own a piece of Worlds history. This auction will not begin until after judging is complete on Saturday, April 23.
Missing your favorite vendors and exhibitors from the Ward World Championship? Us too! While we won’t have our usual exhibitors this year, you can still shop from them year-round by visiting our Exhibitors Page.
